Baseball season is upon us

The baseball season has been thrust upon us full bore, starting out with red sox yankees. I don't know why they did that, we really aren't ready for that yet. Give us some time to beat on the devil rays as a warm up and then we should go at it. I love how Curt Schilling will have his ankle ready for the home opener as opposed to yankee stadium vs Randy Johnson. One thing that is crazy is the number of red sox hats in NYC. It's getting a little ridiculous. Anyone from New England or who even vacationed in cape cod is now a red sox fan. I truly believe the growing number of sox fans in new york is due to the fact they realize what a 2nd class town it is. They head for new york for the promise land, but remain true to the only thing they ever experienced in boston, red sox fever. It's hilarious how you don't have a choice. Geeks from MIT, who didn't get past tee ball, are suddenly die hards. Pretty Crazy. If I had my own business in nyc, i'd add an extra $7 tab for anyone wearing a red sox hat. That would be just to get a rise out of them.

In other baseball news, during the steroid debacle I wrote about Giambi
and how he could turn this into a positive, by admitting he used and then going out there and talking to teen agers. It is insane how this guy is getting a pass from the yanks fans, because he is a nice guy. I thought nice guys finished last? Not when it comes to scandals. Often the nice guy cheater gets a pass. However, this get out of yankee fan hell for free card is a ploy to make it hurt even more when he lets us all down when he is hitting below the mendoza line.

Giambi Juice!

After denying steroid use for a long time, It came out this week Giambi admitted use to a grand jury. I've been getting hundreds of emails on what do I think about this being a Yankee fan. Well actually just one friend called me about it. The Yankees will be trying to void Giambi's contract based on a "keep yourself in good health clause". And it really couldn't have come at a worst time for him, since he isn't hitting like bonds and Sheffield are and suffered the ill effects of steroids. Giambi was supposed to use the short porch in right to be a home run king, but showed how one dimmensional he was with the giambi infield shift. My feeling is the only thing he can do is come out and say I really made a mistake, I cheated and I want to come back and prove to teens and everyone out there that you don't need steroids to be a great athlete. I'm tired of teammates saying that Giambi is a sensitive really really great guy. If he's a true good guy he needs to go on a crusade to talk to teens , who are the ones who really are affected by the steroids epidemic. Leave the New York Yankees and try to make a comeback - maybee with your size you are more suited for second base. If he just tries to go on with no comment and play on the yankees, he will suffer mentally and financially, not to mention his vegas party life. These next weeks will be interesting and I hope he does the right thing. I mean really if you know me you know i was 5" 4" until i was 18 and grew in college to 5'11". We also know that based on my little league years i could have made it to the bigs if i hit the juice. I made the right decision then not to take steroids and trade glory for corporate. The pictures from bostondirtdogs below tell the whole story - they even want the 2003 alcs trophy out of this (LOSERS)

Pedro meeting with Boss

daddy.jpgI've lived in NYC and Boston so I know the rivalry well. Bostondirtdogs is reporting Pedro is having lunch with the boss today at malio's. I still don't expect Pedro to land in nyc but you never know when the boss starts handling exclusive negotiations. That usually means someone who will be overpaid, over the hill and locked into a guaranteed deal while they are collecting social security. I don't want to see pedro the clown in pinstripes.

Want to meet AROD?

arodpurse1.jpgI am a flip-flopper and a typical yankees fan, but i am down on AROD this offseason. TRADE HIM! Send him packing with Kevin Brown..Pay his salary for next 12 years. After reading about an AROD-BONDS event that will charge die hard fans $7500 to hang out and get an autograph or $1050 to go to happy hour at the 40/40 club! Are you kidding me? It's December 10th so I'm sure the Yanks will be welcoming say Beltran or pavano to nyc for 15-20 years. So I read further and figured well there has to be a good cause associated here somewhere. NO. It's an event put on by AROD AUTHENTICATED that will be selling ridiculous AROD WEAR very soon. I also noticed his foundation for charity doesn't even have a web site. I guess we know where AROD's priority's lie. My priority is to get some real dirtbags on the yanks in 05' who love the game like pauly oneill did. I want Jeter to cleanse himself of living in the past. The Signing of bench coach Joe Girardi is a good start eventhough he won't be in the lineup...

Update - Dec 13th.I was way off here. AROD donated his share to charity and Bonds did not! You rule AROD if you bring us a championship in 05!
