Tip of the Day - Get to MoMa immediately
On Monday I got my first chance to hit MoMa and all I can say is wow. I'm not artistic or cool enough to say anything else about museums. It is truly a masterpiece and is a must visit on a trip to nyc. The line was long and the price is 20 bucks/ European tourists covered the entire place, taking advantage of the euro. I have the attention span of an infant and I was fixed on multiple pieces for up to a minute. Also, some of the exhibits make you feel like you can go home and turn some of your favorite household goods into a masterpiece. My dad's shopvac is modern art?

My visits to the reopened MoMA spawned a mixture of good impressions and mediocre sentiments. A lot of the works on display were featured in the few exhibitions at the Queens MoMA. I was so looking forward to a fresh look of the museum's other collections. At least with their new Midtown space, one can see more famous works from their permanent collection. One of my favorite exhibits is a newer acquisition. It's a chessboard dotted with knights. It's a neat eye-exercising puzzle to wind through!
If you find yourself revisiting the MoMA with friends and you've seen most of what's currently exhibiting, go to the second floor MoMA library to browse freely through their huge collection of design and art books. They even have books with art-related activities for children that entertain both parents and kids. The library is also one way of reading the fine print posted next to the painting that's blocked by the crowds.
Here's another tip. A great way to catch up with old friends or to go on a first or second date, is to surprise your companion with a stop at the MoMA cafe. The cafe offers a selection of delectable desserts from La Maison du Chocolat. These fresh chocolate wonders are flown in overnight from Paris. Ooh la la!
N.B. corporate members are welcome to use the Members Only coat check line.
