Guest Blogger Rant

Today we have a guest blog on what seems to be this week's subject; parking in Manhattan. One of the smartest liberals I know is Barry and i've been trying to get him to blog. He's smart and actually reads the new york times, while i just carry it to look smart. Here is something he sent me below and will be my guest serious political blogger consultant news guy.

What's great about the subject below is that is right in front of where i used to live on the upper east side and my dad got a ticket for parking there. A $100 ticket is a great way to liven your dad's spirit on mother's day! I'd really like to have this thing get towed to 38th and 12th AKA hell and see how long it takes to process this one!!!!

Barry's Gripe
Construction is perpetual in Manhattan. It is annoying but it is also necessary - progress is good. I understand that building/property owners make trade-offs based on what is sometimes called the "Quality Triangle", which states that between fast, cheap, and good, you can only achieve two of them - choose wisely. What really gets to me is when these people disregard the law, which you may have noticed is not an OPTION on the quality triangle. Want an example? This picture, taken at East 87th Street, between 2nd and 3rd in Manhattan, shows a construction trailer parked within 15 feet of a fire hydrant (s. 4-08(e)(2): the 15 feet law in NYC). This trailer has been there for over a month, and will probably remain there for at least a year. At this point, I don't care if the people get a damn ticket. I want the trailer moved to comply with the law, since I think the law was created to ensure public safety in the case of a fire. I know the head sharkblogger's dad would want to see these guys get a ticket since he did for doing the samething
